FILM SYNOPSIS

"Adam Ondra is a living legend. A master among climbers, a record-breaker who “flashes” the most complicated mountains, a virtuoso of rocks and walls, his fame is unquestionable and his talent an inspiration and a true gift from nature. Haunted by the idea of always going further, his life is marked by training and the exploration of new paths – always more complicated, always more satisfying. Alongside him is Iva, his girlfriend, a professional of the same discipline and an attentive and caring companion. Thanks to the sharp eyes of Petr Záruba (director of the delicate Traces of a Landscape, VdR 2020) and Jan Šimanek, Adam Ondra:, Pushing the Limits reveals a close-up of a man who is one with his passion. The elegance of his movements – astonishingly similar to dance – and his contagious smile are captured by the camera with both admiration and intimacy. ONE TIME CLIMBING ON SATURDAY

Climbers will ever be climbers, so if we exceptionally open on a Saturday for a cinema screening, we will also open for a climbing session before the film! The climbing is optional, but the film is not. This means that on this afternoon and evening you cannot enter without a film ticket, even if you are a regular. As a thank you to our members and subscribers, they get to watch this film at half the price!

CLIMBING SESSION

Usually Balance is closed on Saturdays, but for this event we exceptionally open our gym for climbing three hours before the film. You can only enter for climbing with a cinema ticket and climbing is limited to the hours of 4 pm and 7.30 pm. There is no climbing during the film screening. You pay separately for this climbing session at the normal rate, depending on whether you have a subscription, a 10-session-pass or a single pass.

PRACTICAL DETAILS

The film starts at 8pm!

If you wish to eat dinner before this film starts, feel free to order in delivery or take it with you! Be sure to have finished your dinner well before the film starts, there can be no eating during the film screening. During the film we do not open the door, so plan your food delivery early enough. 

Also, if you want to come early without climbing, you are welcome to do so. You can play games or hang out at the bar or the fire stove. Entrance on this day is only for people with a film ticket.

We are not a regular cinema hall, so we cannot guarantuee a decent seat for everyone in case the event has many guests or is even fully booked. You can always take a pillow or (low) camping seat with you.

We want to create a focused cinema surrounding while we are watching the film, so the lights in the climbing hall go out half an hour before we start the film. Also, there will be no bar service during the film screening, so order your drinks before hand if you wish to have them. There will be no break during the film, which lasts 77 minutes. Please do not eat during the film.

The film is spoken in Czech and English, subtitles are in English.
